![]() If my rudeness (which is just misguided frustration), has discouraged the both of you, I understand.Ħ hours I've worked with both of these programs tonight and gotten nowhere. If either of you would like to walk me through like I'm the biggest dummy in the world (I'm actually serious.I'm not kidding) I would greatly appreciate it. Please forgive my frustration but I'm at my wit's end here. I need step by step instructions that apparently no one else in the world seems to need. It does not (clearly) tell me what to do with the files after I've unzipped them. It's under the assumption that you're already a web designer (which I'm clearly not). It does not offer step by step instructions. If I overlooked it in my frustration, I apologize.Īnd Hans, I downloaded your version and the instructions make no make sense to me. If I'm missing the step by step guide that this should come with, please let me know. I did that and alas.another set of broken links sit on my page with no explanation of how to use them. Grammps, the first one offers literally no instruction (that I could find) other than "Select lightbox gallery from Widgets in the insert palette or insert menu." Thanks for both of those suggestions guys. I just want to make a simple gallery that I can integrate into an existing website.Ĭan anyone suggest the easiest program to use? I've tried to work with it an I've emailed support several times. The steb by step guide for one, isn't even written in proper English. I purchased the Classic Photo Gallery from Flash Development 24 because it was described as "easy to use." After lots of research, I've come to the conclusion that integrating that into an existing website just insn't that easy to do. I've tried using Bridge which was very easy to set up but I'm at a loss on how to integrate that into the webpage. When you click on the thumbnail, it shows the image in a larger size with a small caption. I would like a simple (theres that word again) grid that shows the photos as thumbnails. ![]() I have an existing website On the Gallery page, I want to include a simple photo gallery where I can showcase paintings. I am on a PC with Windows Vista Operating System. I am designing a website using Dreamweaver Cs5.5. This really can't be this difficult.Įither that or I am the dumbest person in the world. While in Turtle you can't put the album title above the theme image, there are hundreds of skins exists with different layouts (you can even create your own), so you don't have to stick with a skin you don't like the layout.I am ready to give up. 3) Regarding the banner image (theme image): you can use the same theme image throughout the whole album with the "Settings / Turtle / Header / Same image in subfolders" setting. 200x160px - which will result in 4 columns. If you want less columns use larger thumbnail images, e.g. ![]() The normal images will fit as many as can below the theme image. 2) The columns set in the Settings panel affects only the number columns of folders shown with Turtle skin. You can also change the generated album's location (independently of the album project location) by the "Settings / General / Output directory" setting, if you wish. Saving manually to a completely different location is not advised. If you don't like it you can change this location globally by the "Preferences / Album / My albums location" setting. 1) By default jAlbum saves the album projects to User/My Albums folder. Our support team can usually work out most things so make sure to send them an email or post in our forum (Best regards, Jason Hi Dave, I'm Laza - Turtle skin author. Hi Dave, thanks for your review and we appreciate your input. It would be nice to be able to have the same banner for all projects, albums, and sub-albums, and then have gallery title & comments under that banner and not on top of it. 3) Top Banner - Consistency is important to me. the only way I been able to get fewer than 6 columns is to change the "theme image size", but then I have a skinny page. 2) Thumbnail Layout - This option in the album setting does not work. I didn't think it was possible, but I have several folders named jAlbum in my Sites folder. jAlbum keeps creating a new jAlbum folders holding just one project. I have not been able to achieve this after countless hours of trying. I want all projects to be stored in that folder with each project to be self contained in it's own folder, and I want each project to remember were it is stored and the skin settings. BUGS: 1) Consistency in saving projects - I have a folder User/Sites/jAlbum. The Turtle skin is a bit buggy and could be more intuitive. The skin I use is Turtle, and Turtle is the only reason I bought jAlbum. I use jAlbum to put up quick temporary sites of photos I've taken at an event or on a studio shoot. JAlbum has great potential, but needs some redesign.
